Pilcrow, founder, editor, administrator, extrordinaire. There are two categories in my family, those who speak French and those who don’t. I belong to the latter. I had a catchphrase when I was about ten — “pastrami on rye!”
Hansel, comedian, professional promoter and marketer. Friend of friends and family who has become a good friend. Notoriously interrupts memorial bicycle parades. Fanatically devoted to U2 and the Utah Jazz.
Squid, or The Squid, if you know him from a certain when; I don’t want to tell the story wrong but Gabe Dominguez gave him that name in high school because his real name is “a mafia name.” Guitarist, writer, computer science major. Brother of Pilcrow, Squid belongs to la Clique Française.
Zephyr, sister of Squid and Pilcrow, mother of four, author of “My Imaginary Blog.” Writer, humorist (her puns are crippling), expert seamstress. Zephyr also belongs to la Clique Française. Master conversationalist. Has played and beaten The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.
Acheté is a recent purchase. Yet another card-carrying francophone. Mathematician by day. When his theorems seem to impinge on the realm of the practical, it is a sign that he is losing consciousness.
V. Pooh 10 came into my family by marriage, to another sister. Speaker of a non-romantic foreign language, liar by profession, fashioner of wryness, provisioner of general entertainments. The nicest guy you’ll ever meet, and owner of some of the funniest stories I have ever heard. His father once predicted Pooh would one day be buying and selling guys like Kurt Schilling.
